Salsbury Steak and Broccoli

I’ve always seen Salsbury steak in the grocery store frozen food section. I told myself I can make this healthy for me. So here it is. My friends loved it and wanted more. Enjoy!!!!

Steaks:
1 pound ground beef
2 large eggs, beaten
2 tsp ketchup
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp. salt
1 tablespoon olive oil

Gravy:
2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
2 Tbsp. flour (thickener agent)
1 ½ cups beef stock
1 Tbsp. ketchup
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
½ tsp onion powder
½ Tbsp. T-Coons The Stuff
1 tsp garlic powder
6 ounces sliced mushrooms
Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:
1. In a large bowl combine all ingredients under steaks except olive oil
2. Form four equal patties about ¾ inch thick
3. Cook each steak for three min on each side (golden crust), transfer to plate
4. Reduce heat to medium and keep drippings in pan. Add butter. When melted, add flour and whisk until no lumps when combined
5. Reduce heat to med-low, pour in beef stock and whisk well. Add rest of ingredients except mushrooms under gravy. Whisk to combine
6. Add mushrooms and simmer for five minutes to thicken. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
7. Add steaks to pan and nestle into the gravy. Cover and cook for 10 to 15 minutes until cooked through (internal temperature of 160 degrees F)

On the side it’s broccoli mashed or broccoli with cheese.
