There’s lots of talk these days about Equity and Equality. According to “Merriam Webster,” equity is “justice according to natural law or right. Specifically: freedom from bias or favoritism.” Equality is “the quality or state of being equal.”

Tyranny is required to mandate equality which by definition causes inequities. Equity creates inequality because every individual has God given rights to freely make their own decisions.

Even the decisions made by infants can impact them their entire lives. Our life experiences, in our formative years, unquestionably impact our entire lives. As our desires, aptitudes, and motivations mature that too, differentiates us from others. Then as we strike out on our independent journeys in life we mature into very individualistic people who often differ considerably from what we were when young adults.1 2

That’s why Garrison Keller’s favorite old saying is impossible. You remember it, “Welcome to Lake Wobegon, where all the women are strong, all the men are good-looking, and all the children are above average.”

So it is in health and disease. In the prehistoric era, for three or four million years all humans ate nearly the same thing in spite of their tribal cultures and traditions. No matter where people lived at that time the overall chemistry of their diets was almost identical because their foods were generally grass-fed meats, wild-caught seafood, and green leafy vegetables. But that started changing about 10,000 years ago with the invention of farming and the creation of permanent communities. Agricultural practices introduced many different vegetarian foods that included vast quantities of seeds (grain), fruit, and tubers. In addition, humans quickly learned about selective breeding and the race was on for sweeter, juicier, faster, and fatter.

People incorporated the new foods into their cultures and traditions and, what was once a rare “treat,” became standard fare. It wasn’t until mechanization significantly lowered the cost of raising and harvesting grain, circa 1940s, that the grain feeding of livestock went from rarely done to an almost universal practice. That changed the chemistry of the meats people ate from grass-fed and wild-caught (grassy meats) to meats with considerable grain-based chemistry. That’s why modern grain-fed meats are deficient in the Omega-3 essential fatty acids (EFAs). That deficiency is defined by the “BALANCE” of Omega-6 EFAs to Omega-3 EFAs exceeding 4:1. The optimal EFA balance is considered to be 1:1.3 4 5

When foods changed, rather abruptly about 10,000 years ago, it was impossible for human bodies to adapt in a short period of time. The result has been numerous body failures which modern medicine calls chronic diseases. So we can say that nearly all chronic diseases are associated with diet.

These days virtually everyone is born with bodies developed by foods that did not supply all the required nutrients in the prehistoric relative balance. So, in effect, most babies are starting life behind the eight ball. Since mothers do not eat exactly the same foods, there are differences in every baby’s immunity, brain function, nervous system, and more. As the children develop more differences occur. For this reason, all children cannot be above average. Parents manage their destiny which is why some children may start out below average and excel beyond the wildest expectations while children that started out above average with all the “right” advantages disappoint.

When it comes to health, everyone can make changes that alter their outcomes. In some cases, in our earlier development we may have damaged ourselves to such an extent that a complete restoration cannot occur. But a body hungry for all the right nutrients, in their proper balance, will respond positively when it finally gets “perfect nutrition.” That can only happen when individuals decide to change. Positive change rarely occurs via government edict and coercion. It happens one person at a time.

For the entire COVID-19 pandemic, bureaucrats and politicians have brutalized their “subjects” with endless demands for masking, distancing, and shutdowns. But have they emphasized the importance of suppressing chronic diseases by eating foods that lower EFA balances, improve immunity, and lower weight? The answer is, they haven’t. Therefore it’s up to individuals to proactively control their own destiny and not wait on a bureaucrat to make decisions for them.

In case you wonder if Omega-3 is effective in the COVID-19 pandemic, recently there was a small pilot study comparing Omega-3 levels and deaths from COVID-19. The title of the study is “Blood Omega-3 Fatty Acids and Death from COVID-19: a Pilot Study.” The preliminary data indicates that there is quite possibly a correlation which begs for an in-depth analysis.6

For this reason it’s a good idea for everyone to take an Omega-3 blood test and find out where they stand. Do they have an Omega-3 deficiency? Doctors rarely if ever get that data when they do blood tests. That’s because they focus on drugs and operations for solutions rather than diet. My favorite test is the Omega-3 Test which you take at home. If you put slanker in the offer code the test only costs $99.7 8 9

Oh, as for “all the children are above average” sort of thing, that’s impossible of course. That’s why talk of a $15 minimum wage won’t work. If $15 is the minimum for beginners and inexperienced workers, then those with experience and highly honed skills will want significantly more per hour. The end result will be a substantial increase in the entire pay scale spectrum with huge spikes in the inflation rate resulting in $15 an hour being below the poverty line. In the interim, the workers who are hurt the most are the ones who can least afford being laid off. When governments establish minimums and maximums in the free market, chaos is the result.

To your health.
