Column #368        September 16, 2022Classifed Documents from Mar-a-Lago FBI Raid

This is a very controversial topic that needs to be discussed with an open mind. The story didn’t just start on August 8, 2022, when the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) executed a search warrant at Mar-a-Lago—president Donald Trump’s Palm Beach, Florida, home. It started more than seven years ago!1

A day or so after the Mar-a-Lago raid I came across an off-the-wall comment about the documents the FBI had seized. Sure, the documents were supposed to be highly classified and, if they got into the hands of bad actors, national security would be compromised. But it wasn’t long before we learned that many of the documents were very personal including health records, passports, attorney-client communications, old magazines, and other papers and items that in no way could jeopardize national security. That, plus the fact that the Department of Justice (DOJ) is fighting tooth and nail against having a court-appointed special master examine the documents, caused me to think that maybe the off-the-wall comment about the true nature of the documents is no longer wild speculation but most likely factual!

The probability of that increased last weekend when Dick Morris was a guest commentator on a Newsmax segment. I’ve always considered him to be pretty level headed so I listened closely when he said he has a theory about the documents. Then he went on to explain that he thinks it’s quite possible the documents are records of the scandalous Russia Probe and the FBI doesn’t want them made public. Then on Monday I saw where Morris had published a piece on his website titled: “Coming Soon: The Trump Counteroffensive.” Here’s just some of what he disclosed:2

“I do not believe that President Trump sent the documents in his possession to Mar-a-Lago to hide them from the FBI and the public. I think he took them with him precisely not to hide them but to expose them to public view so he can demonstrate how blatantly and illegally the FBI and the DOJ have turned the machinery of government against him.

“He likely believes that, in these documents, is elaboration and proof of:
●    How the FBI and the DOJ spied on his 2016 presidential campaign.
●    How they lied to the FISA court to secure surveillance warrants against members of his staff.
●    How they knowingly leaked false and misleading information, gleaned from the Steele dossier—which they knew was disinformation produced by Hillary’s campaign staff—to the media and to Congress to perpetuate the phony myth that Trump and his campaign were in collusion with the Kremlin.

“I also believe that the FBI did not raid Mar-a-Lago in pursuit of documents with which to incriminate Trump, but that they did so to stop Trump from using these same documents against them to prove their misconduct and lead, possibly, to their prosecution, not to his.”

With a quick search of events dating back to last September it’s easy to see that Trump was demanding the declassification of documents related to the Russia investigation hoax. It was all over the news with the MSM calling it “stunning.”3

Then on January 19, 2022, the major headlines of the day were that “Trump Declassifies Binder of Russia Investigation Documents on Eve of Biden Inauguration.” Here’s how the Washington Examiner described what Trump did:

“I hereby declassify the remaining materials in the binder,” Trump said in the memo, addressed to FBI Director Christopher Wray, Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, and acting Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen. “This is my final determination under the declassification review and I have directed the Attorney General to implement the redactions proposed in the FBI's Jan. 17 submission and return to the White House an appropriately redacted copy.”4

A month ago news came out that the FBI unit leading the Mar-a-Lago probe was the same gang of FBI misfits that earlier had been main players in the discredited Trump-Russia Collusion Investigation. Investigative Journalist Paul Sperry stated that: “The FBI division overseeing the investigation of former President Trump's handling of classified material at his Mar-a-Lago residence is also a focus of Special Counsel John Durham's investigation of the bureau's alleged abuses of power and political bias during its years-long Russiagate probe of Trump.”5 6

This past Sunday, The Epoch Times reported that: “A lawyer for former President Donald Trump criticized the Department of Justice (DOJ) for the FBI raid on the 45th president’s Mar-a-Lago residence and said it is a ‘fair question’ to ask whether the agency is engaging in a cover-up.”7

At the same time we learn that last week the FBI was busy serving more than 30 Trump Associates with grand jury subpoenas. On Tuesday this week MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell was served a federal subpoena and his phone was seized by federal agents. What’s this roundup all about?8 9 10

Three weeks after the Mar-a-Lago raid, Biden gave his speech from hell where he called more than 70 million MAGA supporters threats to democracy. Then there’s the recent serving of grand jury subpoenas to more than 30 Trump Associates. Moreover, the January 6th detainees are still “in the news” waiting for a “speedy” trial—some on misdemeanor charges. All of this drama is occurring just weeks before the midterm elections. Obviously, all of these detractions could have been addressed and behind us 18 months ago if they were really important. But no, it’s all coming to a political boil now which to me indicates that our DOJ and FBI are doing everything they can to influence the election and cover up their previous misdeeds such as: (1) The Russia, Russia, Russia hoax; (2) the deliberate coverup of the Hunter Biden laptop story prior to the last election; (3) The phony impeachments; (4) refusing to investigate voter fraud; and more . . .

Is our legal system the Democratic Party’s gestapo? During World War II, the Gestapo played a key role in the Holocaust. After the war ended, the Gestapo was considered so evil that it was declared a criminal organization by the International Military Tribunal (IMT) at the Nuremberg trials. Obviously throughout history evil governments have been able to recruit thugs to do their dirty work. Our government, as it is these days with its deep state actors, seems no better than all the other evil governments in history.

All the facts regarding the Mar-a-Lago raid aren’t in yet. Therefore, other than speculating by stringing together various events and statements, there is no “proof” that the FBI and DOJ are trying to cover up their misdeeds. This is similar to complaints about the corrupt 2020 presidential election. There’s lots of charges about election fraud, but there have been very few credible investigations of the more serious accusations. These coverups keep everyone in the dark. That means we either accept the “official” narrative or we wait for actual in-depth, unbiased hearings on the various charges before we really know the truth.

Yesterday’s selection of Trump’s preferred special master candidate, coupled with the generous review process adopted yesterday by presiding Judge Aileen Cannon, is a huge step in the right direction regarding clarification of the document raid. Judge Cannon had also entered an injunction prohibiting the government from using the documents “for criminal investigative purposes.” But that is being appealed. The deadline for the review is November 30, 2022. Obviously, the court is aware of the possibility the DOJ will use the raid of Trump’s home and future developments in their criminal investigation as an October surprise. With the special master’s document review due after the midterm election there’s less of a chance that the Biden administration can use its investigation of Trump to interfere in the elections.11

The health and well-being of all Americans depend on a legitimate justice system that follows the laws that are based on our nation’s Constitution. Right now, it seems that our various Federal, State, and local governments (controlled by bureaucrats and power hungry politicians) want more power over the citizens. They do not believe that freedom works well. Instead, what people need is proper governance. And these tyrannical deep staters are willing to take whatever illegal and forceful steps necessary for increasing their control over the people.

To avoid a real life 1984 scenario it’s up to us, we the people, to protect our freedoms. And that won’t happen if we ignore current events.

To your health.
