Spicy Dry Chicken Wings with Hot Dipping Sauce

Another football season classic. Wings are great for all get-togethers. Serve just as they are or serve with a side of hot dipping sauce.

WINGS (oven or air fryer)

Ingredients:

2 lbs Omega-3 Chicken Wings about 14 to 16 wingettes & drumettes
1 Tbsp. macadamia nut oil
1 Tbsp. chili powder
1 Tbsp. smoked paprika
1 Tbsp. ground cayenne pepper
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp black pepper

Instructions:

1. Dry wings with paper towels to remove liquid.
2. Place wings in a large bowl and rub macadamia nut oil evenly onto each piece.
3. Combine all seasonings in a separate bowl.
4. Sprinkle half of the seasoning mixture onto the chicken wings and rub in. Flip them over, sprinkle remaining half onto the wings and rub in.
5. Place rack over shallow baking pan with sides (line pan with foil for easy cleanup). Place seasoned wings on greased rack.
6. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes, flip each wing, then bake for an additional 10 minutes.
7. Turn oven broiler on low and broil for another 10 minutes.
8. Remove from oven. Serve with celery, homemade ranch dressing, and additional hot dipping sauce if desired.

* To air fry, place the wings in a single layer then cook 25 minutes at 360°F. Flip each piece, then cook four more minutes at 400°F. Then put in the oven to broil to crispen the skin. Greasing the rack with oil is recommended if it’s not a non-stick rack.

Hot Dipping Sauce:

Ingredients:

4 Tbsp. unsalted butter
6 Tbsp. Frank’s hot sauce
½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
½ tsp ground cayenne pepper or more to taste
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp Chili powder
1 Tbsp. red pepper flakes (this will make it hotter the longer it cooks)
¼ cup sugar free ketchup or tomato paste (thickener)

Instructions:

1. Melt butter in saucepan over medium heat
2. Add rest of ingredients and whisk together.

If you want it spicier add more cayenne or red pepper flakes.

Enjoy
