Column #290    March 26, 2021President Joe Biden Senior Moment

I introduced Dr. Dale Bredesen in this column in September 2015. I reported then how his work had produced astoundingly positive results. But like most unconventional chronic disease treatments that bypass drugs and operations, his success with suppressing cognitive decline is still largely ignored. But that is nothing new. Unfortunately, because his “cure” is being ignored, the entire country is being negatively impacted.

During the past year everyone has watched the slow deterioration in Joe Biden’s mental faculties. I find it rather painful. You’d think the “incredibly smart” bureaucrats at the CDC, whom we’re supposed to worship while following their sage advice, would be ahead of the game in dealing with such an important person’s health. But they are MIA.

When Biden won the South Carolina primary on February 29, 2020, the pundits started assuming he was the front runner for being the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate. Since Biden was obviously mentally compromised at that time, his handlers had plenty of time to take corrective action. In spite of that, they pretended the obvious didn’t exist and Biden’s mental prowess continued to deteriorate during the past 12 months.1

This column’s image of Biden was clipped from a video of him speaking during a television interview. He was commenting on something when all of a sudden he lost it and was struggling to find words to complete his sentence. It was an obvious “senior moment.” Unfortunately, this happens with such regularity that his handlers do not want him to answer spontaneous press corps questions or even give a TelePrompTer-aided State of the Union Address. And when he was signing stacks of Executive Orders nine weeks ago, it appeared as if he was unaware of what he was signing. When he does talk to the press, he reads notes instead of speaking off the cuff.

When it comes to chronic diseases, ignoring Biden’s predicament is just one example for why I am so critical of the CDC and the professional medical community. Our nation’s bureaucratic machine and big business oligarchs have kept Americans ignorantly mired in chronic disease quicksand. When it comes to diet, they themselves are quite ignorant. And it’s not like they haven’t had time to learn. It was about ten years ago that Dr. Bredesen developed the treatments that could help Biden regain his mental faculties. Interestingly, Dr. Bredesen’s approach is not totally revolutionary. He just happened to be the first scientist to record what occurs when AD sufferers follow a healthy lifestyle.

Dr. Bredesen is an internationally recognized neurologist, cognitive health researcher, and medical innovator. He has also held faculty positions at the University of California in San Francisco and San Diego, as well as at UCLA. As part of his 40 years of research, he discovered 36 molecular mechanisms involved in cognitive decline. Drawing from those findings, he developed the Bredesen Protocol for Alzheimer’s and MCI reversal. As a result of his research he wrote a 2017 New York Times Bestseller “The End of Alzheimer’s.” It stands as a definitive title on natural brain health.2 3

Obviously Dr. Bredesen is not a harebrained outsider who cooks up wild theories and operates out of a backroom somewhere. The first public awareness of his approach came in September 2014 when he released a paper titled “Reversal of Cognitive Decline: a Novel Therapeutic Program.” That paper reported on nearly four years of trials with ten people. He explained it this way in 2014:

“The first 10 patients who have utilized this program include patients with memory loss associated with Alzheimer’s disease (AD), amnestic mild cognitive impairment (aMCI), or subjective cognitive impairment (SCI). Nine of the 10 displayed subjective or objective improvement in cognition beginning within 3-6 months, with the one failure being a patient with very late stage AD. Six of the patients had had to discontinue working or were struggling with their jobs at the time of presentation, and all were able to return to work or continue working with improved performance. Improvements have been sustained, and at this time the longest patient follow-up is two and one-half years from initial treatment, with sustained and marked improvement.

“The positive results reported here are perhaps not surprising given that therapeutic programs have proven more effective than monotherapeutics in multiple chronic illnesses, such as atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, HIV, and cancer. Indeed, chronic illnesses may be more amenable to therapeutic systems than to monotherapeutics.”4

In addition to improving the diet his other recommendations include 30 minutes of exercise 4-5 days a week, eight hours of sleep per night, daily meditation, fasting 12 hours between dinner and breakfast, optimized oral hygiene, and a list of supplements starting with two teaspoons a day of quality fish oil. His diet follows a basic Mediterranean-diet-approach, one of the easier diets to switch to, that is fortified with numerous supplements as outlined in his report.

The goal of his program was to address AD in a physiological way, as far upstream as possible with diet, supplements, sleep, exercise, and meditation. The supplements were prescribed to improve the odds of success because, if enough steps were followed, the minimum threshold would be exceeded. Interestingly, all of his recommended supplements occur naturally in the combination of grass-fed meats, wild-caught seafood, Omega-3 meats, and green leafy vegetables.

Chemically, Bredesen’s dementia-prevention diet replicates my recommendation for a low-glycemic, nutrient dense and diverse diet that seeks a balanced Omega-6 and Omega-3 essential fatty acid (EFA) ratio of 1:1. Therefore, better than following the Mediterranean Diet, far and away the best foods to eat are grass-fed meats, wild-caught seafood, Omega-3 meats, and green leafy vegetables and other suitable vegetables. Just like with a cancer diet, the goal is to eliminate high glycemic foods, grains, seeds, processed foods, and most nuts.5

The restriction on grains, seeds, and most nuts is due to their skewed nutrient loads. They all have high Omega-6 loads which make balancing the EFAs almost impossible even when taking a fish oil supplement. Of special note, if one is disciplined in their diet, by sticking mostly with grass-fed meats, wild-caught seafood, Omega-3 meats, and green leafy vegetables they should get the nutrients that are in Bresenden’s recommended supplements. Although, if I were already mentally compromised, I would include all of the supplements recommended in his report, at least initially, and then slowly wean myself off them.6

Drugs and operations mostly focus on single pathways and that kind of narrow targeting can show change in chronic disease symptoms. But, in human studies narrowly focused approaches do not work. Chronic illnesses like cancer, osteoporosis, atherosclerosis, diabetes and other afflictions require metabolical approaches that address multiple modalities at the same time. Since this metabolical approach of diet, supplements, sleep, exercise, and meditation reverses AD, it also most likely has a positive impact on other chronic diseases. It’s a no-risk metabolical approach which is why Biden’s handlers should be implementing it rather than letting AD slowly kill him.

As for our country, I’m concerned that Biden’s handlers are just propping him up to use as a figure head. That makes me wonder, who is running the show? Our country had an incapacitated president once before with President Woodrow Wilson. He was incapacitated for over a year while still being president of the United States.7

To your health.
