Column #365 September 2, 2022
We don’t look back to lament. We look back to see whether we’ve been on course. When I looked back over the past 30 months of these columns, I saw there was a growing divergence between scientific and social truths and government dictates.
As the pandemic progressed, it reminded me over and over again of one of President Ronald Reagan’s humourous quotes. "I'm from the Government and I'm here to help." Yes, in those 30 months I reviewed my own experiences with government bureaucrats and representative politicians to explain how the more they got involved, the worse things got.1
At the very beginning of the pandemic we knew that it was mostly elderly people with comorbidities who were at high risk of dying. The first indications were that about 10% of the cases resulted in death! But it was also noted that younger folks, especially children, were hardly impacted by the virus and deaths were extremely rare. We also knew from Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) mask studies that masks could not prevent the spread of viruses. Later we learned that distancing was also a joke and that the six-foot recommendation had no scientific backing whatsoever.
In March 2020 it was well known that the media was sowing more fear than facts. We started to figure out that the death rate was way overstated. Medical authorities rarely if ever talked about developing and improving basic immunity. Doctors were not allowed to offer off label drugs such as ivermectin to new cases of the virus. It was a perfect storm of unscientific decrees. Seemingly, the only option was to wait for the vaccine.2
Yet even before the vaccine came out, there were concerns being voiced that without proper testing it was a high risk vaccine. But doubters were silenced and, when the vaccine was released, jabs became mandatory along with masking, distancing, shutdowns, and travel restrictions. Amazingly, to this day the vaccines have very skimpy warning labels yet they are clearly experimental.3
Originally, the CDC’s recommendation for a two-week shutdown to give hospitals time to staff up and open up more beds seemed reasonable. But when the shutdowns extended beyond two weeks and schools remained closed, it became clear that insanity had taken over. Shutdowns did not isolate those who were sick. It isolated huge swaths of the population. Soon after the shutdowns were policy, I was writing about the high cost shutdowns had on all citizens.
On October 4, 2020, the Great Barrington Declaration was published online. It was a commonsense approach to the pandemic that drew considerable backlash from the MSM, the CDC, other government agencies, and even many medical professionals beholding to the CDC. I had immediately recommended their proposals as fundamental science and was a staunch defender of the declaration. But it was a losing battle because of the high-pitched screams from bureaucrats and the MSM.4
Then other doctors, such as Dr. Robert Malone and America’s Frontline Doctors, started getting into the fray. They were immediately demonized and discredited. Malone was prominently attacked in July 2021 by the MSM. But he used that “notoriety” to become even more vocal in his criticism of the CDC, the MSM, the vaccines, lockdowns, bureaucrats, the Great Reset, and more.
Up until Covid-19 I had never paid a lot of attention to the CDC. Consequently I had no idea how it controlled the medical industry and how corrupt the CDC has been—especially under Fauci. It wasn’t until early this year when I read “The Real Anthony Fauci: Bill Gates, Big Pharma, and the Global War on Democracy and Public Health” by Robert F. Kennedy Jr. that I learned just how totally corrupt the CDC has been under Fauci. (BTW, on Amazon this book has 20,506 reviews for a five star rating. Yes, there are some negative reviews just as there are people in favor of the Great Reset and Biden’s rant last night.)5
Also early this year I read “A Plague Upon Our House: My Fight at the Trump White House to Stop COVID from Destroying America” by Scott W. Atlas M.D. He explained how, over his objections, Fauci and Brix led Mike Pense and Jared Kushner around by the nose with totally unscientific nonsense. Dr. Atlas was totally disgusted with the bureaucratic claptrap coming out of the White House Coronavirus Task Force meetings and the inability of those in charge to see the damage they were inflicting on American citizens. It was a perfect example of government in action.6
The point of this look back is to understand that millions of people spent 30 months fighting government tyranny over medical advice. One would think that the medical industry would be highly focused on science. But we discovered that Fauci declared that he was science and that if we disagreed with him, we should be banned from thinking and speaking.
Of course many Americans no longer trust the CDC. To remedy that, in the past couple weeks the CDC admitted to making numerous mistakes in handling the pandemic. Yet it still leans toward masking and vaccinating even children. So it’s a typical bureaucratic recognition of a couple of their mistakes that doesn’t really indicate change in the future.
It’s the same with the woke policies in education, open borders, crime, inflation, government subsidies, wars and conflicts, energy costs, food shortages, deficit spending, weaponized legal system, coverups, helicopter money, and more. Our government causes problems and then tells us it’s coming to the rescue with new solutions. But mostly the new solutions cause even more grief! And with all this, what are the elected representatives doing? Most of them are getting richer and more powerful. Corruption is rampant.
In a recent column, John & Nisha Whitehead from The Rutherford Institute, made the following statement. “The American kleptocracy (a government ruled by thieves) continues to suck the American people down a rabbit hole into a parallel universe in which the Constitution is meaningless, the government is all-powerful, and the citizenry is powerless to defend itself against government agents who steal, spy, lie, plunder, kill, abuse and generally inflict mayhem and sow madness on everyone and everything in their sphere.”7
The Whiteheads’ article also provided many examples of the criminal abuses and summarized the current state of affairs thus: “Somewhere over the course of the past 240-plus years, democracy has given way to kleptocracy, and representative government has been rejected in favor of rule by career politicians, corporations and thieves—individuals and entities with little regard for the rights of American citizens.”
To underscore how true that is, last night Biden spoke to the nation while flanked by uniformed Marines standing guard. His backdrop was bathed in blood-red hues that made the entire presentation look like an ominous hellscape. He told us flat out that if we don’t agree with him and his ideology we are enemies of the state. Some couple weeks before he had effectively told us that “his” military could crush all dissenters who offered up criticism and doubts by saying: “If you wanted or if you think you need to have weapons to take on the government, you need F-15s and maybe some nuclear weapons.”8
Has Biden declared war on a large percentage of the American citizenry?9
We have to ask ourselves, can Americans rise up and end the American kleptocracy? Possibly, but so far too many of them are guzzling the swill served up by the worst of the worst. They have no idea they are falling into a trap.
