Is RFK Jr. Ignorant or Smart?

Food pyramid with protein, dairy, healthy fats, vegetables, fruits, and whole grains

Dr. Aseem Malhotra is a Multi-Award-Winning Consultant Cardiologist based at the HUM2N Clinic in London, specializing in the diagnosis, prevention and management of heart disease. He is one of the UK's most recognized cardiologists and a globally influential voice on cardiovascular and population health. Dr. Malhotra graduated in medicine from the University of Edinburgh in 2001 and practices evidence-based medicine with a strong emphasis on collaborative, shared decision-making with each patient.

Like RFK Jr., Dr. Aseem Malhotra’s science-based views brought him a lot of ridicule, especially during the COVID era. As Wikipedia’s “scholarly” editors like to point out, “Aseem Malhotra is a British cardiologist and author, whose COVID-19 vaccine and anti-statin views have been criticized as misinformation by experts.”

What was his crime? Well, even before he became a COVID vaccine critic he recommended that people should reduce sugar in their diet, adopt a low-carb and high-fat diet, and reduce their use of prescription drugs. That’s when a few years before he had tipped the medical/pharmaceutical industries of the world on their heads when he published a study on October 2013 titled “Saturated Fat Is Not the Major Issue.” It’s linked below.

In that report he explained that the landmark “seven countries” study in 1970 concluded that a correlation existed between coronary heart disease and total cholesterol concentrations. Therefore, the medical community advised everyone to cut fat intake to 30% of total energy and saturated fat to 10%.

The generally accepted truth was that the greatest influence on cardiovascular risk is elevated concentrations of low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol. Yet the reduction in LDL cholesterol from reducing saturated fat was specific to large, buoyant (type A) LDL particles, when in fact it was the small, dense (type B) particles (RESPONSIVE TO CARBOHYDRATE INTAKE) that are implicated in cardiovascular disease. So, animal fats weren’t the problem!

Dr. Malhotra’s, very easy to read and comprehend report, goes on to explain how sugar and statins compound heart issues.

Obviously, it’s been RFK Jr., and the folks around him like Dr. Oz., Dr. Martin Kulldorff, and others, who are pushing evidence-based approaches to medicine and diet. Americans have been advised to follow dietary myths and other nonsense for decades. At the same time chronic diseases kept marching along and obesity grew a little more every year.

Many of us have argued for better nutritional and pharmaceutical studies for a long time. We have pushed back against the hundreds of thousands of “sponsored” studies pushing fast food trends and medical quackery. These authored studies, written with conflicts of interests, have created major destructive health issues as big businesses pushed their own concocted products over others.

But, finally in January of this year, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. announced new science-based dietary guidelines for Americans focused on promoting whole foods, proteins, and healthy fats. Yes, real foods. Can you imagine?

Pictured above is the new food pyramid with red meat, cheese, vegetables and fruits. Kennedy is correct when he says the new guidelines are the most significant reset on nutrition policy in history. In time they will set limits on added sugar and encourage diets that include meat and dairy. "Protein and healthy fats are essential and were wrongly discouraged in prior dietary guidelines," Kennedy said. "We are ending the war on saturated fats."

At the same time the new guidelines call for a "dramatic reduction" in the consumption of "highly processed foods laden with refined carbohydrates, added sugars, excess sodium, unhealthy fats, and chemical additives."

It’s been a longtime coming, but finally people like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Dr. Aseem Malhotra, Dr. Mehmet Oz, Dr. Martin Kulldorff, Dr. Robert Malone, and other science-based notables are having their say—even when surrounded by the deep state consisting of long-term government bureaucrats with entrenched ideas.

Hurray for freedom of speech.
