Column #415 August 11, 2023
For going on 15 years now I wake up and turn on NPR. During the week it’s on primarily for the “news.” On weekends, there’s usually some interesting regular programing one can listen to while messing around with other stuff and there’s also news during the weekend hourly breaks.1
As you might imagine, “NPR News” ruffles my feathers. In spite of that, I listen to it anyway. What galls me is that beyond the rather mundane newsworthy stories that are very straightforward, from NPR I get a slant on the news that’s liberal, deep state, government propaganda rather than anything close to what’s actually going on in the real world. I want that slant in order to know what the masses are being fed—especially the leftists who can’t think on their own.
Over the years we all know that NPR, which gets part of its funding from the Federal government and quite a bit from woke corporations, is quite famous for being politically left of center. There isn’t a woke, hoity-toity, liberal belief that NPR doesn’t promote. Therefore when it comes to political news it’s a loyal supporter of the deep state. For instance eight years ago, when Hillary and Trump were both on the stump, NPR was so full of it regarding Hillary and so spiteful regarding Trump it was painful to listen to the announcers—especially Steve Inskeep. That fellow has always been so far left of center he’s barely on the scale. He’s fully infected with Trump derangement syndrome.2 3
But in the past four years, NPR, along with all the other MSM types, has become downright subversive when it comes to massaging the social order. Here are a few examples.
● NPR used to criticize Trump’s border wall and policies and now it ignores the government’s manufactured border problem.
● NPR didn’t recognize the existence of Hunter’s laptop from hell before the 2020 election which was deliberate election interference.
● Now NPR ignores the news about Biden’s alleged corruption that is approaching $30 million in ill-found gains for influence peddling even though Biden admits he used his influence in Ukraine while his son was on the board of Burisma.
● NPR never mentions Senior Biden’s senior moments, babbling nonsense, ineffectiveness in communicating without notes, and other disturbing actions.
● NPR doesn’t explain the financial issues caused by the out-of-control deficit spending.
● NPR ignores the long-term history leading up to the Russian-Ukraine conflict and just blames Putin as an evil man who wanted the war to kill people.
● NPR won’t be caught wringing its hands over the crime waves surging within the big cities run by Democrats.
● NPR doesn’t even want to discuss the success of the “Sound of Freedom” action film about Tim Ballard, a former U.S. government agent who embarks on a mission to rescue children from sex traffickers in Colombia. But it’s all giddy about Barbie.
NPR certainly goes out of its way to trump up Donald Trump’s many indictments. It takes great pride in repeating the many charges over and over again. I have yet to hear from any legal scholars on their programs providing a balanced explanation of the constitutionality of the charges. NPR definitely won’t explain that going after a political opponent with trumped up charges involving the handling of government documents, some charges which the Bidens and many other government officials are guilty of themselves, is literally destroying the democratic process and the public’s trust in the legal system.
NPR doesn’t mention that one aspect of the indictments is that Trump is accused of lying about election integrity and that he didn’t believe what he was saying about fraud in the 2020 election. In other words, Trump’s first amendment rights to free speech are being questioned! NPR doesn’t hesitate to say that the democratic process is dead if Trump is merely reelected president of the USA—an act which would be free citizens functioning within the legal democratic process.
I would have more respect for NPR if it wasn’t for their track record in providing “news” of what’s going on in the political world. When I look back just a few years, NPR ignored the fact that the Russia, Russia, Russia charges were totally phony and were ginned up by Hillary and Obama. NPR ignored the fact that Hillary destroyed documents and that the Bill and Hillary Foundation amassed a fortune with donations from foreign actors. NPR ignored the fact that the Trump impeachments were ridiculous clown shows. NPR ignored the fact that the Democrats’ investigation into the Jan6 debacle was a sham that actually ended up destroying evidence! NPR ignored the fact that Nancy Pelosi played a role in instigating the Jan6 riots!
When the pandemic hit, instead of providing easily available science that was established over more than a century of study, NPR gave power to the deep state bureaucrats in their antiscience, unconstitutional nonsense used in their endeavor to control the public. Here’s a few more things NPR didn’t do regarding COVID:
● Explain that Ivermectin worked. Instead they demonized it.
● Explain how OSHA knew from the get-go that masks cannot stop the spread of a virus.
● Explain that six-foot distancing was arbitrary nonsense that afforded no protection.
● Explain that quarantining all people versus just those who are sick is unprecedented in medical science.
● Explain how shutting down outside activities—such as going to the beach on a sunny day, or riding a bike, and going for walk—was total insanity.
● Explain that closing schools for a year or more, in order to protect children who were not vulnerable to COVID, would burden the future of all children in lost learning and social retardation.
● Explain the medical risks of forced vaccination of people with an experimental drug.
● Explain how firing people who refuse to be vaccinated was un-American and unconstitutional.
● Explain how ludicrous it was to shut down the economy in fear, destroying the life works of millions of small business people while accelerating the bankruptcy of the Federal government in the process.
● Explain how that the costs of the nonsensical response to the COVID epidermic was one of the most disastrous events ever perpetrated on America by it’s own deep state—and maybe it damage was comparable to the civil war.
Of course in other social matters NPR is not our friend. NPR continues to agitate our society by:
● Continuously bringing up race as an issue. It’s like picking off a scab over and over and over again which reminds people of their differences based on skin color rather than our commonalities of being citizens of the same country with the same aspirations.
● Continuously screaming about the importance of aborting pregnancies rather than the importance of being responsible in our actions and glorifying life.
● Continuously promoting and glorifying alternate lifestyles as societal norms while taking the position that doing the opposite or ignoring those differences is harmful to others.
● Continuously warning about global warming as if the world would end as we know it unless mankind changes right now—rather than letting economies evolve by market forces as they have done for millions of years. This isn’t mankind’s first rodeo with planetary changes.
What’s sort of crazy is that NPR and the other members of the MSM can actually continue to exist financially as businesses in the United States. Yet there may be a good reason why America’s mainstream press has forsaken their God given Constitutional right to freedom of speech. That’s right. Here’s the first amendment.
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”4
The press is specifically covered by the First Amendment where the government cannot interfere with the speech of the press in any way. Yet the press in the USA has forsaken this right and are now literally puppets of the liberal, deep state actors in our government. As Bruce Levine says, “The truth is that the U.S. is neither a democracy, nor a republic. Americans are ruled by a corporatocracy: a partnership of ‘too-big-to-fail’ corporations, wealthy elite and government officials.”5
The consequence of excessive corporate power in the government is that the citizens end up with little or no power. Most of the journalists work for these large business interests and, like Tucker Carlson found out, if they speak out of line they will get fired. The remaining “journalists” take note and fall in line spouting the propaganda of the deep state.
What’s quite disturbing is that so many Americans actually condone the behavior of the MSM and believe their slanted, deep state propaganda. This illustrates the effectiveness of propaganda and the lack of critical thinking skills within the mob. Believers of propaganda have willingly forsaken their rights to be comfortable in their conformity—and be good slaves.
As I conclude, I feel like my rant falls way short in describing NPR’s shortcomings. That’s pretty sad.
