Column #346     April 22, 2022In God We Trust

This column was motivated by a recent “Fireside Chat” with Dennis Prager. In it he asked a question about who can we trust when referring to our nation’s “official” medical “professionals.” During February and March 2020 our government went way off the rails in its approach to minimizing the pandemic’s damage. Its approach utilized masking, distancing, shutdowns, ventilators, no therapeutics, scaremongering, and a huge increase in Federal debt. Then it didn’t seem to matter that all of their tactics flew into the face of science—the rulers kept doubling down on their failed polices. Those actions confirmed that many governments, from the cities to the Federal level, could not be trusted.1 2

I for one have always been skeptical of the medical/pharmaceutical industries. They focus on money (drugs and operations) rather than health. For sure, when it comes to patching up accident victims and such, they are miracle workers. But their track record for curing chronic diseases, which is where the big money lies, is glaringly flawed. Nutrition is ignored and incidences of disease continue to increase. As a result modern healthcare costs consume 18% of the GDP. That’s a financial burden our nation can’t afford.

For many Americans there’s a lack of trust in numerous issues beyond healthcare. In fact the list is quite extensive which is disturbing.

●    Federal government agencies, including the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches, are loaded with corrupt, autocratic people. They ignore the Constitution and Bill of Rights and promote their own agendas.
●    Food production. Many food products cause chronic diseases. The USDA promotes them in its dietary guidelines and helps farmers raise them.
●    Our schools have ignored biblical principles and have embraced wokeism.3
●    The treatment of the J6 rioters, which includes people who were just peaceful visitors, is a violation of our nation’s basic humanitarian laws.
●    Countries that were overrun by illegal immigrants were usually in their declining years and, not long after being invaded, they fell. Rome is a good example.4
●    Under The Federal Reserve’s monetary management the dollar has lost 97% of its purchasing power and the Federal government, the citizens, and most businesses are now hopelessly deep in debt. Risks of default have never been higher.
●    Most people trust their money managers explicitly by sending them their savings each month. With the Fed tightening in order to stop the upward trend in prices, you would think money managers would want to hold more cash. Instead they have increased their investments in the status quo.
●    America’s military industrial complex has been at war continuously for 93% of our country’s history and seems to be itching to get into the Ukraine fracas.5
●    Some of America’s most powerful corporations are totally woke and have become leaders in cancel culture.
●    Science has rarely been more discredited than it is now.
●    America’s main stream media is not only liberal, but corrupt in its reporting. It has become a propaganda arm of the radical left and uses lies and omissions repeatedly in reporting the “news.”
●    For decades China granted favors to American politicians and corporate heads. That increased the wealth and power of American politicians and corporate heads which turned their allegiances away from America. Therefore, American politicians and corporate heads can’t be trusted.
●    The upper echelons of the FBI and CIA are corrupt and have tried to unseat a sitting president. Our FBI even lures citizens into committing crimes in order to arrest them.
●    America’s national voting system has many flaws, many of which were exploited criminally in the last presidential election. Are our national elections comparable to those in banana republics?
●    If American rulers decree the abolition of rights, there always seems to be a sufficient number of police and military members to do the bidding of the dictators at the expense of citizens. Therefore, we can’t even fully trust the members of the police and military to protect our freedoms.

This is a short list of untrustworthy events. I’m sure you can add some more. But these points illustrate why we have to be careful when it comes to trusting other people.

The long list of untrustworthy people in our governments, industries, news agencies, schools, law enforcement, courts, and even the military are why all people should trust in God rather than in people. People are flawed and none are consistently trustworthy. When people place their trust in God they have alined with a higher power that seeks to keep them free so they can be their best. Sixty years ago a popular Air Force Chaplin asked his congregation, consisting mostly of active duty warriors and their families, what they had to lose by believing in God. Essentially, that meant living according to His Word. You’re correct, there’s nothing to lose.

Too many Americans have turned their backs on God in order to worship people they consider godlike so they can live according to their teachings of irresponsible freedoms. These people do not want the time-tested biblical boundaries our nation’s Founding Fathers used to frame a political structure for our great nation. Instead they want total freedom to do what pleases them in their search for happiness. Unfortunately, history has always shown that life without limits does not provide real freedom.

Today, the radical leftists have embraced cultism not unlike what some people did 40 years ago in Oregon. You do remember the Rajneeshee Movement don’t you? There’s little difference between that cult and today’s radical leftist wokeness. Both are messed up beliefs that can’t stand the test of time.6

This is why our nation’s motto, “In God We Trust,” is so important.

To your health.
