When entertaining, it is sometimes necessary to bend the rules from what we normally eat on a day-to-day basis, but we always refrain from added sugars and try to create a healthy yet tasty dish. With that in mind, here is a dip recipe that uses cream cheese and Greek yogurt. You may even be able to substitute other products for those diary ingredients.

Ingredients:

2 large sweet onions, peeled and cut into chunks

1 head garlic

2 T. Garlic Isle Macadamia nut oil

8 oz. cream cheese, softened

1 c. Greek yogurt

Instructions:

Place onion chunks in bowl and drizzle with macadamia nut oil, turning onion to coat each chunk. Wrap the garlic in foil and put both the onion and garlic on a cookie sheet. Bake about 50 minutes at 425° F or until onions are brown but not burned.

Place Greek yogurt in a blender. Squeeze the pulp out of the garlic pieces and add onion and garlic pulp to the yogurt. Blend. Add cream cheese and garlic salt and continue to blend until all ingredients are thoroughly blended. Or, you might find it easier to transfer the yogurt mixture to a mixer to finish combining all ingredients.

Refrigerate for several hours if possible and enjoy with fresh veggie chips such as sliced zucchini, sliced sweet peppers, sliced carrots, sliced celery, cauliflower and/or broccoli  florets.
